Adopt me!

Have you ever found yourself saying, after hearing about someone’s immense wealth, “I wish they would adopt me”! I’ve heard stories of people going to adoption agencies and children there asking to be adopted. Why would someone want to be adopted? My first answer to that would be to change their future; change your circumstances; know that they have a family and inheritance. In the Bible we’re taught that we have been adopted into the kingdom of God, not only adopted but begotten into the kingdom of God, so born into it. Nicodemus came to Jesus and asked how he could get salvation how he could enter heaven and Jesus told him he must be born again. It was a confusing statement to this educated leader. Nicodemus had to ask how can a man go back into his mother and be born again? Jesus explained it to him that we have two births. We have a birth of the flesh or body as babies and we have a spiritual birth. 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 3, ” Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away reserved in heaven for you Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, in this you greatly rejoice though now for a little while, if need be you have been grieved by Various trials that the genuineness of your faith being much more precious than gold that parishes though it is tested by fire, may be found to the praise honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

How should it change our perspective of this world, how we live each day knowing we have a father like our God, knowing that our inheritance and our future have been secured in heaven through salvation in Jesus Christ?
